ANNOUNCEMENTS

|
National Weatherization Day - October 30
|
|
October
30, 2008 marked the 32nd Anniversary of National
Weatherization Day.
The Weatherization Program was created in 1976 to assist
low-income households that lacked resources to invest in energy
efficiency. Funds are used to
improve the energy efficiency of low-income homes using the most
advanced technologies and testing protocols available in the housing
industry.
Nationwide over 6.2 million homes have been weatherized.
This year an estimated 100,000 homes will be weatherized,
including 1,200 in Broomfield, Boulder, and Larimer Counties
through Longs Peak Energy Conservation.
Low-income families will reduce their energy costs an average of
$413 and primary heating fuel use by 23% the first year after receiving
this benefit.
This free
program delivers services, when deemed cost effective, such as giving
out energy efficient light bulbs, client education, replacement of
inefficient furnaces and refrigerators, adding insulation, and reducing
leakage in walls/windows/ducts.
To find out if you qualify and
to request an application, please contact Carlene at 720/864-6401
or
